Pigs…There are so many great things to say about Pigs, where to begin?
⁓Pigs are cute in their own right to start. Pigs do not get the positive recognition they deserve. They show emotion with their eyes and mouth. Pigs are smarter than Dogs. They have great memories.
They are social creatures that love to cuddle with each other. They love to be touched and form close bonds with each other and other beings including humans. They communicate with grunts. Mother Pigs lovingly care for their babies even before they are born by building a comfortable nest. Once born they are very attentive and protective of her young. Mother Pigs sing their babies while nursing.
They love to run, play and swim.
They have an excellent sense of direction and their sense of smell is 200 times that of humans.
Pigs are omnivores. Their life span is average 12-15 years. But unfortunately in Factory Farms they will never be able to experience the things that make them Pigs and their lives are violently cut short before they reach the age past 6months.
Pigs in Factory farms experience extreme physical and psychological agony and desecration.
Mother Pigs are forced a life of constant breeding , kept in crates where they cannot move around. Piglets when born, immediately experience discomfort, struggle and mutilation. Their teeth and tail are disfigured.
Over 100 million Pigs are raised and slaughtered each year. On their way to slaughterhouses the abuse and cruelty do not stop. Too often Pigs are taken and kept in overcrowded truck loads without any water and in temperatures that are sweltering to say the least.
Once at the slaughterhouses the young Pigs face confusion, terror, even more abuse. The violence is immeasurable in the slaughterhouse processing. Pigs seen as a product instead if a living being are pushed and driven into gas chambers or electric shock. Often they are not unconscientious as their throats are slit and bleed out while being plunged into scalding water.
